Every kids fantasy is having a white christmas.  With this song I'm dreaming of a white christmas brings it to life in words.

As a kid I dreamed about being able to wake up to many presents under the tree and it snowing outside so I could make a big snow fort and play outside all day.

What did you dream about waking up on christmas day?

The Best for Last

The United States National Anthem is the most decorated song of all time. Being played at every sporting event in this beautiful country.  It has meaning that lead to our past but are still relevant.  If you read through the lyrics it'll make you proud to be an American

Oh, say! can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming;
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there:
Oh, say! does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In fully glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution!
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Oh, thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust":
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Elvis Meets Tupac

Throughout every generation there are music artists that transform the industry.  Elvis was the first person to still be considered alive after he died. The next probably would be Tupac Shakur. Both these unique individuals have completely opposite styles of music they have performed and are recognizeable by many throughout world.  Who's going to be the next artist that will live after death.  Could it be Lil' Wayne or that wanna be man Justin Beiber? Your the one to decide.

I Believe I can Fly!!!

R. Kelly sings this song about how  if you believe in something that it is possible as long as you keep on believing that it could possibly ocme true as long as its physically plausable.

If I can see it
then I can do it
If I just believe it
there's nothing to it

I believe I can fly
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can soar
I see me runnin' through that open door
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly
See, I was on the verge of breaking down
Sometimes silence can seem so loud
There are miracles in life I must achieve
But first I know it starts inside of me
Oh, if I can see it (whoo!)
then I can be it
If I just believe it
there's nothin' to it
I believe I can fly
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can soar
I see me runnin' through that open door
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly....whoo!
Oh, I believe I can fly

Hey, 'cuz I believe in You
Ohhhhhh
If I can see it
then I can do it
If I just believe it
there's nothin' to it.

Article pertaining on how to go about trying to save a music program in a school. It is has a vital role in my current paper on why a music in schools should be saved.

Victor, Richard. "Saving Your Music Program: 5 Golden Rules for Music Advocacy." Illinois Music Educator Fall 2010: vol. 71. pg 62-63. Academic Search Elite. Ebsco. Web. 27 Nov. 2010.
The articles premise is to help save your music program.  Within the article it offers 5 particular rules that can help you at least get your word out about how to save your program. Starting off with know your decision makers. Know who makes the decisions around your school will help get you pointed in the right direction. Especially to get meetings set up to get your opinion out on why it is important to keep the music program.  You always have to stay professional. Once they begin to lack your trust or doubt how credible you are everything you have worked toward saving the music program could potentially be lost.  Always stay realistic and persistent.  If something doesn’t go your way keep trying, it’ll only help influence other minds about different subjects that can benefit you in the future.  Involve parents and students they are the most influential thing you can bring to a meeting.  Parents only want what’s best for their kids and kids only know what is important for them to succeed.  School officials keep this in mind to because it’s their job to educate students to the best of their abilities. Finally, let your voice be heard without letting people know how you feel about your music program your work will just go to waste.  This article pertains to my problem that music should stay in schools.

Article pertaining to the importance of music in memory retention for my paper I currently am writing

O' Donnell, Laurence. "Music and the Brain." "Brain & Mind" Magazine. 1999. Web. 16 Nov. 2010. <http://www.cerebromente.org.br/n15/mente/musica.html>.
This website article is constructed to show how music has impacted some of the greatest people in history.  It also has significant segments within the article of how music tends to alter life. It later explains how the classical composers such as, Bach and Mozart’s music greatly increases memory retention and learning capabilities.  Their music has been involved with studies of chicken hens laying more eggs when the music is being played.  The purpose of this article is to show that learning with music affects your memory retention.  With the article being composed in relatively short segments with headings deciphering what is to follow allowing people to be able to find information about a particular topic rather easily.  This article helps clarify any doubts that music affects human’s ability to learn. It also shows what kind of music helps maximize memory retention.

This article is composed to show the affects of listening to music can have on the brain for both adults and children. With studies from the University of Texas at Austin, show that if you are able to learn how to play an instrument while growing up it helps you depict certain tones in different languages allowing you to learn them more easily.  Other studies show that learning to play a musical instrument helps you in your working environment by allowing you to focus instead of on foreign sounds in other cubicles.  Within the article it brings about a general purpose that playing an instrument will help you in your everyday life.  This article is unique because it links playing musical instruments to learning different languages. This article supports my assumption that in many different forms music can impact your life.

Throught working on my paper about why music education should stay in school there wasnt one article that elaborated on why it should more than this particular one

"Benefits of Music Education | VH1 Save the Music." VH1 Save The Music Foundation. Web. 28 Nov. 2010. <http://www.vh1savethemusic.com/node/2192>.
This article has the premise of keeping music and arts within schools.  The article is derived in 5 particular parts on how music benefits society.  These are; The Benefits to the Brain:  Cognitive Development, The Benefits to Students:  Personal and Academic Success, Music Education: How Schools Are Doing, The Creative Economy:  Work Force Preparation for the 21st Century, and Public Opinion: What the American Public Thinks.  Within these 5 particular topics it uses different articles from reputable sources to elaborate on why music in schools is important.  The purpose of this article is to help persuade the people who don’t think music is important in schools and how it can benefit their children.  This article is unique because it uses a collaboration of articles by different magazines. Music is very inspirational and helps people conquer fears. With this article it goes a long way in helping with why schools should keep music programs because of how it helps people get there emotions out
Mirow, Robert. "The Power of Music: Helping People to Sing Their Hearts Out." Learning Disability Practice Oct. 2010: 21-22. Academic Search Premier. Ebsco. Web. 27 Nov. 2010.
This article is written from the premise that music has the ability to break down barriers that are hindering people to live a normal life. A case study of a lady named Linda who was suffering from a learning disorder that causes her to be oversensitive.  The nurse was having a hard time figuring out ways to help Linda overcome the parts of life she struggles with, so she asked her, what she enjoyed in life. Linda responded with “music.” The nurse later asks her who she likes to listen to and if she can sing one of her songs to familiarize who the artist is.  While singing the nurse noticed a special glow from Linda and it also brought upon a renewed form of confidence.  The purpose of this article was to never underestimate the power of music and its ability to lower a person’s wall about a particular subject.  This article is unique by the fact that it uses a case study to prove how effective music can be on influencing how someone can go throughout their everyday life.  The case study was used to help inform parents or guardians of people who have learning disabilities and offer an alternative way to help sooth them. It pertains to my problem that music helps people deal with certain problems by allowing them to show emotion through either singing or play of a musical instrument.

Annotated Bibliography source #1

This annotation is for a project I am currently working on about why schools should keep music programs and the influence music has on there lives.

Mastro, John. "Benefits of Music Education." A Repository of Useful Knowledge. 25 Sept. 2009. Web. 28 Nov. 2010. <http://www.johnmastro.net/educational/lifelong-benefits-of-music-education/>.
The article has a premise of showing the different lifelong benefits music in education can bring to a person.  Music first increases intelligence by increasing retention of knowledge.  Music targets particular areas of the brain. The left becomes larger than the right when music learning is involved. This allows more retention of language and reasoning. Music education builds lifelong skills and carries many rewards for the future development of students.  Leadership skills are also developed because people who play music focus on “doing,” instead of sitting back and watching. Music Education is referred to as a way of “craftsmanship.” Craftsmanship is used to make things of good work instead of settling for average or mediocre.  Students use this to as they work at making good music; it also is brought upon in the classroom.  Without the work put in there can’t be any greatness that can come from it.  The general purpose of this article is to show that music education is indeed a vital part in student’s lives and can help them develop good habits in school.  This article uses many resources to come up with data helping to make the article more accurate.  It also uses both qualitative and quantitative data.  This article supports that music has great impacts on young adults and the education of music shouldn’t be dropped from schools.

What is a Big Green Tractor?

Throughout the music industry there has been a big controversy of what is a Big Green Tractor and is it a sexual reference in the Song "Big Green Tractor" by Jason Aldean.

Looking into this song more in depth and also looking at some lyric analysists the conclusion of a what a Big Green Tractor is rather refering to the sex appeal of a big green John Deer tractor nothing more than that.  Some would disagree that there is nothing sexy about a John Deer tractor then theres some people in the farm world that think its just as sexy as Ferrari or Porsche.

Cant stop Believing- Journey

Just a quick analysis of  certain snippets from the classic Can't Stop Believing by Journey

Just a small town girl
Livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train
Goin' anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train
Goin' anywhere

Workin' hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some will win
Some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Streetlights, people
Don't stop believin'
Growing up we learn about the " American Dream," and this song is all about it.  With a girl living in a small town and a boy be raised in the big city with probably rater contrasting lifestyles they meet on a train in downtown Detroit.  With the boy getting on a train not knowing where he was going to go is like not knowing where he's going to go throughout his life and is still in search.  as the song go on it talks about working hard to achieve his particular "American Dream and how he can't lose faith and stop believing of whats about to come into his life.
